It’s time for our ANNUAL Fall Fundraiser!

In 2022, our Fall Fundraiser brought in $25,601, which included matching donations from companies and a Skate Angel Investor.

Last year we brought in a total of $212,000 in programs and donations.

We needed every donation then, and more than ever now, so please consider donating to our 2023 Fall Fundraiser!

This year our goal is to raise $30K! Help us reach our funding goals by donating today through December 31st
–  Donations will be matched, up to $8K!
– Company matching is also eligible! We will match THOSE donations (yours + your company)

We’re kicking off our Fall Fundraiser with our annual in-person skate session, the THANKS-SKATING-DAY-EVENT!

Join us on Thanksgiving Day morning, Thursday November 23rd, 9:00am-11:00am at Lynnwood Bowl & Skate.

Thank you to our Sponsor, Lynnwood Bowl & Skate, who has enabled us to offer this FREE 2-hr open skate session in their beautiful rink.

Everyone is invited to attend and encouraged to skate! All skaters will be required to wear protective gear to skate. Free inline skate rentals are available, on a first come first served basis.

We’ll see you Thanksgiving morning!

Your donations will directly fund our Fee Waiver Program, and our staff salaries required to facilitate After-School Programs.

Why donate to Skate Journeys?

We have been a skate school since June 1999 and a nonprofit since January 2010, serving Seattle community members, youth and adults for 24 years.

Being a nonprofit has allowed us to offer Fee Waivers to students for ClassesCamps, and Apprentice Programs. Our Fee Waiver Program helps remove financial barriers to skating by allowing anyone to participate in these transformative skate programs at no cost.

Since we re-opened with weekend classes in January 2022, we’ve focused on growing all programs and classes.

Our intention is to have permanent part-time and full-time Skate Instructors & Admin staff, that will fuel our program growth. We want to offer competitive and consistent salaries, while developing our staff into the professional team that schools, parents, & our communities expect and need.

Staffing Instructors for our skate programs has been like a chicken-and-egg situation: we need staff to run programs, and need programs for staff to work, finding the right balance is key, to ensure we don’t miss out on programs due to being understaffed, but also have enough work to keep staff committed to running the programs.

This year we are on track to create and produce more ASPs and In-School Programs than ever before!

Skate Journeys is thriving since we re-opened in January 2022 because our community shows up, takes classes & camps, AND because our Skate Instructors show up.

However, we are on the edge of a precipice. We TRULY need your donations to propel us forward. Why? Because like a company that gets venture capital to expand, we need your donations to support us while we build to reaching our goal of offering at least 20 In-School Programs, 10 After-School Programs, and increased numbers at Weekend Classes.

We believe that our skate school community makes a difference in people’s lives.

We need your support, so please donate to Skate Journeys so we can continue to teach and transform lives through inline and roller skating!

Your donation makes a direct impact to the communities and skaters we serve, so please donate today!
