Administrative and Program Assistant
to the Executive Director

Skate Journeys is a 501c 3 non-profit organization committed to teaching and transforming lives through inline and roller skating. Skate Journeys is expanding and seeking a local person in the Seattle or Eastside area to fill a 10-20 hour a week position.

Job Summary: The Administrative Assistant is responsible for working closely with the Executive Director assisting at events, classes, creating and implementing class programs, and event projects. In addition, the APA will be interfacing and providing client, staff, and student support.

Position responsibilities include:

·           Admin Assistant to the Executive Director (duties include working closely to assist the director at events, classes and projects) also includes assistant duties on a variety of skate school tasks such as setting up Afterschool programs (ASP) on 6Crickets, assisting team with calendaring and more.
·           Program set up & client interface: working with current clients on setting up all programs (ASP, Skate PE, Mobile Events, Camps)
·             Staff Interface: work with all instructors and volunteers on SJ policies and procedures
·         Customer Service: Be a part of the team that answers all the questions that come in from our clients via web/email
·            Onsite: Assist ED on running programs such as host, set-up, take down and client interface, running onsite fundraisers like our 5/10ks
·         Calendaring: Assist the team on keeping up our calendar, looking ahead and working with Social Media team on focused and timely posts

Candidate needs to be well organized, detail oriented, great with customer service and a self-starter. Weekdays and weekends needed, but usually with advanced notice for all work.
Candidate must have a car to drive to locations and events. Compensation: TBD

Skate Instructor

Skate Journeys is always looking for passionate skaters to add to our team as Skate Instructors. Our Skate Instructors teach in various programs in the Seattle, Lynwood, and Bellevue areas, and help expand the skate classes and programs we can offer.

Skate Journeys is a nonprofit committed to teaching and transforming lives through inline and roller skating. With the recent surge in interest in skating of all forms, it’s a very exciting time to do what we do. If Skate Journeys sounds like the right fit for you, we look forward to hearing from you!

Priorities:
Facilitating weekend classes: managing and teaching quad and inline skates in various programs.

Role requirements:
• must be able to lift 30-50lbs
• must wear safety gear & helmet
• must have clean driving record & pass a background check
• must be SkateIA certified (we can facilitate this in training)

Hours: Part-time, variable, definite weekends
• 15-25 hrs/week in role
• 10 hrs/wk to start while training
• Up to 40 hrs during summer camp weeks
• Saturday/Sunday schedule
• Days will alter during busy season (summer camps, etc.)

Compensation
• Starting $16 – $20/hr
