Skate Instructor & Coordinator

Want to skate for a living? Skate Journeys is hiring! We are expanding and seeking a passionate skater who is interested in joining our team as a Skate Instructor & Coordinator. You would teach in our various skate programs in the Seattle, Lynwood, and Bellevue areas, and be responsible for coordinating skate project logistics.  

Our Skate Instructor & Coordinator will be on top of the who, what, when, and how’s of our skate projects, and become a key part in future programs. Our ideal candidate has experience working in a team, meeting deadlines, and communicating with integrity. We’re not expecting perfection, but someone who can work efficiently, and can drive our programs forward while creating positive experiences for our skate community and beyond.

Priorities:
coordination of skate programs: weekend classes, summer camps, after school programs, skate PE, etc.
facilitating weekend classes: managing and teaching quad & inline skater’s of all ages • organization, maintenance, and delivery of skate fleet to program locations

Role requirements:
must be extremely organized, communicative, and reliable
must be able to prioritize, and facilitate multiple projects simultaneously
must be able to lift 30 lbs.
must wear safety gear & helmet
must have clean driving record & pass a background check
• must be SkateIA certified (we can facilitate this in training – April 1st, 3rd, 4th)

Hours: Part-time, variable, definite weekends
20 hrs/week in role
15 hrs/wk to start while training
40 hrs during summer camp weeks
Wednesday – Sunday schedule
• Days and hours will alter during busy season (summer camps, etc.)
Compensation
• Starting $18 – $21/hr (based on experience)
Rate to increase after 2-3 months of training

Skate Instructor

• 15-25 hrs/week in role
• 10 hrs/wk to start while training
• Up to 40 hrs during summer camp weeks
• Saturday/Sunday schedule
• Days will alter during busy season (summer camps, etc.)

Compensation
• Starting $16 – $20/hr
