FIRST CLASS

Setting you up for success

Tips for Success in your first class:

Skates & Gear
If needed, we loan you skates and protective gear for your first four classes.

Helmets

We recommend utility style helmets for skating for maximized protection. While bike helmets are fine, be sure to ensure proper fit. Click here on how to best  fit your helmet.

Socks
We recommend you wear socks that go well above the ankle to ensure the skates fit comfortably, ankle socks can cause severe bruising. Select socks like Smart Wool, or a man-made fabric sock. Hiking socks work well. Try to avoid wearing cotton socks.

Clothes
Wear comfortable clothes that can be removed easily. New skaters tend to get hot quickly and become itchy.

More Tips
Bring a water bottle.
Have your child visit the restroom prior to class.
Arrive 10-15 minutes early. If you are late, lesson time cannot be extended.
