We appreciate that you have invested your time, energy, and money with us to help YOU reach YOUR skating goals. Please see our liability waiver below.

AMATEUR ATHLETIC WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY. READ BEFORE AGREEING: In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the Skate Journeys program, related events and activities, you acknowledge, appreciate and agree that: the risk of injury from the activities involved in this program is significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death. And while particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and you KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASES or others. 

You assume full responsibility for your participation; and you willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If however, you observe any unusual significant hazard during your presence or participation, you will remove yourself from participation and bring such attention of the nearest official immediately; you acknowledge that if you are uncomfortable with any activity, exercise, or training program within the class that you may immediately state so, and that it is your right and responsibility to remove yourself from the situation immediately and that you are encouraged to do so. 

You, for yourself and on behalf of your heirs, assigns, personal representatives, and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS this location, where activities take place, SKATE JOURNEYS, their officers, officials, agents, and/or employees, whether paid or not, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, partners, members, assistants, independent contractors, volunteers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event, and agents Of Any Type Whatsoever Acting On Or In Behalf Of The Aforementioned Entities And Persons (“Releasees”) WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage of any kind to person or property suffered by myself or any others, directly or indirectly, arising out of any practice, instructions, or other activity related to this program as well as participation in this program or traveling to for from this program or any other activity related to this program.

WHETHER ARISING FROM NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEEES OR OTHERWISE, YOU HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT YOU HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHT BY AGREEING TO IT, AND AGREE TO IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT INDUCEMENT.

You understand that the activities, exercises, and training methods to be taught may not be appropriate for all people and may, in some cases, cause injury or aggravate existing injuries. You certify that you are physically able to participate in this activity and will further hold Skate Journeys, as well as all officers, partners, members, employees, assistants, independent contractors, volunteers, assigns, or agents of any type whatsoever acting on or in behalf of the aforementioned entities and persons, harmless for any injury sustained in the course of this training due to any physical defect or condition you may have, whether now known or hereinafter discovered. You also understand that all exercises, training methods, and concepts are to be used at your own risk and that the aforementioned trainers and entities assume no responsibility for your actions.

You further acknowledge that in consideration for this training, this release shall not expire and shall be considered effective in perpetuity. You have understood all that is expressed in this Waiver and Release of Liability, and you certify that you are of sound judgment, legally competent to agree to this waiver.

For participants of minority age (under age 18 at time of registration), this is to certify that you, as parent/guardian with legal responsibility for this participant, do consent and agree to their release as provided above of all Releasees, and, for yourself, your heirs, assigns, and next of kin, you release and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees from any and all liabilities incident to your minor child’s involvement or participation in these programs as provided above, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

COVID-19 Acknowledgement: You acknowledge that you are aware that there are risks to yourself of exposure to directly or indirectly arising out of, contributed to, by, or resulting from: an outbreak of any and all communicable diseases, including but not limited to, the virus “severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)”, which is responsible for Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) and/or any mutation or variation thereof.

In consideration of having the opportunity to participate in Skate Journeys activities, and in acknowledging that you are aware of and willing to assume the risks associated with this activity, you hereby voluntarily agree to waive, hold harmless, and indemnify Skate Journeys and its trustees, agents, volunteers, and employees and the agreed-upon venue from any and all claims, demands, damages, and causes of action of any nature whatsoever arising out of ordinary negligence which you, your heirs, your assigns or successors may have against them for, on account of, or by reason of your participation in the above activities.

 Purchase Policy: All registrations are non-refundable. If your class is cancelled due to sickness or weather, your registration will be scheduled for a mutually agreeable date/time in the future.

Instructors are subject to change to fit the needs of our programs.

You are 18 years of age or older and able to consent to the above.
