Join us for free lessons. If you’re new to Skate Journeys, register for Beginner 1 (Learn to Skate) classes as space is limited.
New to Skate Journeys
ALL NEW STUDENTS take the LEARN TO SKATE – FIRST CLASS. This pertains to novice and seasoned skaters who are unfamiliar with Skate Journeys. This matriculates you in the program.
First time Beginner? The Learn to Skate – First Class and Learn to Skate Class # 2 are specially crafted to kickstart your journey in inline and roller skating.
Self-Taught, Experience Skaters? Start with Learn to Skate – First Class. Your lesson will involve an evaluation to determine the class that best fits your skills. Make sure to notify your teacher at the beginning of class that you will require an evaluation. Beginner classes begin 15 minutes before the others to allow ample time to evaluate and place you in an appropriate class.
NOTE: Please ensure to purchase classes in advance to receive the most favorable offer. In case you check-in without any classes on your account, an automatic charge of $30 will be applied with no option for refunds.

Returning Students
We are thrilled to offer classes that are inspired by the possibilities of the Pacific Northwest, including Seattle and its surrounding areas. Our objective is to provide programming that encourages movement for both children and adults in ways that align with our vision of using Roller and Inline skating as tools for Teaching and Transforming lives. These classes are open to all returning students.

SKILLS TAUGHT AT EACH LEVEL
- Level 1: Duck Walk, Stride One, Stopping, How to Fall/Not Fall, Edges/Balance/Rotation
- Level 2: A Frame-Turns, One Foot Glides, Toe Rolls
- Level 3: Stride Two, Swizzles, Parallel Turns, Stopping completely
- Level 4: One Foot Glides on Various Edges, Backwards Stroking, Forever Crossovers, T-Stops
- Level 5: Crossovers in a Circle, Transitions, One-Foot Slaloms, Hocket Stops, Backwards Crisscross
