Weekly Class Updates
Hello Skaters,
1. Regular classes both Saturday and Sunday. We will have some gaps in our usual lineup so please double check the schedule each Friday when we send it out. This week there is currently no B1 instructor for adults for Sunday.
2. Kids classes are getting combined. For the foreseeable future, on Saturdays, Kids B3 & L4 will be combined into one class. Those kids who are good enough for 5/6 will join in on the adult classes (and yes they still will get a snack break).
3. Apprentice Program starts this Sunday. Classes occur at both 9:15 and 10am and is being taught by Trish & Sanghavi, with 16 Apprentices. This means Trish will not be teaching regular classes on Sundays but will continue to teach regular classes on Saturdays. Usually Joe and Naomi and Jean can teach the 4/5/6 classes. Apprentice students will sign in, by hand, only each week.
4. Sunday first hour classes: Sign in is on the red rental desk, not the tables for our 9:15am. Look left instead of right when you come in from the lobby.

Instructor Spotlight
Tobias (Toby) Avant
Toby started skating 11 years ago and became a certified instructor about 2.5 years ago. He’s both Level 1 and Level 2 Certified, and we consider him one of our top instructors for kids. He will graduate from high school in 2025. He teaches at our weekend classes and summer camps. Outside of school, he dabbles in cooking, electronics, mechanical engineering prerequisites, and other complex subjects. In his own words, when he teaches kids:
“Honestly, I love making sure the kids can be independent (feel free to speak) and seeing their realizations in what they’re interested in, whether it’s skating or something unrelated that unfolds as they exercise. It’s a lovely thing to see and experience someone else’s learning.”
