Programs and Outreach Coordinator

Skate Journeys is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to teaching and transforming lives through inline and roller skating. Skate Journeys is expanding and seeking a local person in the Seattle or Eastside area to fill a 10-20 hour per week position. 

Job Summary: The Programs and Outreach Coordinator is responsible for working closely with the Executive Director, assisting with current classes, camps, and events; creating and implementing class programs; outreach to youth organizations to create partnerships; and developing new projects/events, as well as building and fostering a strong, dynamic team. In addition, the POC will interface and provide support to clients, staff, and students. 

Position Responsibilities Include: 
• Program Development and Management: Duties include collaborating with the Executive Director and administrative staff, clients, schools, and instructors for project creation, events, and classes. Additional duties include a variety of skate school tasks such as setting up Afterschool programs (ASP), familiarity with 6Crickets, assisting the team with scheduling, and conducting onsite fundraisers like our 5/10k “Hit Your Stride.” 
• Program Setup & Client Interface: Working with current clients to set up all programs (ASP, Skate PE, Mobile Events, Camps, Fundraisers)
Staff Interface: Collaborating with all instructors and volunteers on SJ policies and procedures
Customer Service: Be part of the team that answers all inquiries from our clients via web/email
Onsite: Must aspire to run all programs from start to finish. For example, collect all necessary gear and skates, deliver, set up, facilitate program/event, take down, and interface with clients/students.
Calendaring: Assist the team in keeping up with calendared events, attendance, time-keeping; as well as forecasting ahead and collaborating with the Social Media team on targeted and timely posts.

The ideal candidate must be a team leader, self-starter, well-organized, passionate about youth programming, have experience in and be comfortable with community outreach and networking with other youth organizations, along with a clean driving record and background check.

Candidates must be available to work most weekdays, all Wednesdays, and one weekend day, usually with advance notice for all work. 

Candidates must have a car for required transportation to locations and events.
