$175.00 / Sundays for 6 weeks

DATES: Fall 2024 - October 20, 27, November 3, 17, 24, December 8, Make up: Dec 15th.
8:45am - 9:30am: Session 1 - Practicing skating skills
10:00am -10:45am: Session 2 - Learning how to teach.
LOCATION: Lynnwood Bowl & Skate
We offer this class once or twice a year, depending on demand.

Learn to Teach

Watching novice students learn new techniques under their guidance can inspire many skilled skaters to become instructors, as they are eager to take on the challenges that come with this role.

Improve skating skills

Unlock your full potential! This course utilizes a tried-and-true teaching model that inspires you to excel in both demonstrating and instructing each skill, all while enhancing your own skating abilities.

Adults and Youth

Unlock your potential as a skating instructor! This training is open to both adults and youth with intermediate skating skills and a desire to share their love for skating. The Skate Instructor Training equips you with the necessary skills to teach others to skate with confidence and excellence.

By enrolling in this course, you'll be fully equipped to earn the SkateIA Certification This valuable certification opens up doors to a range of possibilities - you could potentially secure a future role with Skate Journeys or even start your own thriving skate classes.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

A SkateIA Instructor Certification is required to work for Skate Journeys.
Taking the Apprentice course does not guarantee you will pass the SkateIA Certification.
Take the SkateIA Certification when you are ready. The one scheduled in January is timed so you can teach the following summer.

Inline & quad skating certification

SkateIA Level 1 Certification Information

Students who are part of the Instructor Apprentice Program and aspire to teach for Skate Journeys or become a professional inline and roller skate instructor are encouraged to obtain their SkateIA Certification. The designated dates align with your training: January 9th, 11th, and 12th, 2025.
