Fall Fundraiser: October 1 – January 15, 2026

Goal: $30,000 | Donations Matched up to $8,000

This holiday season, we're inviting our community to help Skate Journeys take a major step forward.

Our Fall Fundraiser looks a little different this year. Rather than funding a specific program, we're focused on funding something even more impactful: a Programs and Outreach Coordinator.

We recently interviewed an outstanding candidate and are excited about the possibility of bringing them onto our team. If we can secure funding for at least one year at 20+ hours per week, we're ready to make it happen.

Why This Position Matters

For years, we've known that growth at Skate Journeys requires dedicated leadership focused on outreach, program development, and community connections.

This new role will focus on:

Expanding in-school and after-school skating programs
Developing mobile events and new community partnerships
Supporting weekend and specialty classes
Building relationships with schools and organizations
Recruiting and coordinating instructors
Increasing access to skating opportunities throughout our region

As Skate Journeys continues to grow, including our expanded presence in Issaquah, we've seen firsthand how much opportunity exists to reach new families and communities. What we've lacked is the dedicated capacity to build and sustain those relationships.

This position fills that gap.

Building a Strong Foundation

Last year, your support helped fund several important initiatives, including our week-long Skate PE program, which will launch in schools this October.

At the same time, we experienced fewer after-school programs than we'd hoped simply because we didn't have enough staff capacity to build, coordinate, and expand them.

Funding this position changes that.

Our goal is for the Programs and Outreach Coordinator to create new opportunities, generate new revenue, and establish partnerships that not only sustain the position but also allow Skate Journeys to continue offering scholarships, pilot programs, and affordable access to skating.

We believe this can become a self-sustaining position within its first year, creating lasting impact for years to come.

Our Goal: $30,000

October 1, 2026 - January 15, 2027

We're rallying our community to raise $30,000 to launch this position and provide the support needed for a successful first year.

Even better, every donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $8,000, doubling your impact. The sooner you give, the greater the chance your gift will be matched.

Donate Now

Why Donate Now?

Your gift supports Skate Journeys, a nonprofit school dedicated to teaching inline
and roller skating through school PE programs, after-school classes, and inclusive community events.

Because this year's fundraiser is about more than sustaining Skate Journeys. It's about building the capacity to grow.

For years, we've known we needed a dedicated team member focused on outreach, program development, instructor recruitment, and community partnerships. We now have a strong candidate ready to step into that role. With your support, we can make it happen.

Your donation helps fund a new Programs and Outreach Coordinator, someone whose sole focus will be expanding skating opportunities throughout our region, bringing skating to more schools, developing new programs, supporting our Eastside growth, and creating a stronger future for Skate Journeys.

Most importantly, this position is designed to become self-sustaining. Our goal is that within a year, the programs and partnerships created through this role will generate enough revenue to support the position while continuing to provide scholarships, pilot programs, and affordable access to skating.

This is an investment in long-term sustainability and growth.

Your Support Today Powers:

• A new Programs and Outreach Coordinator at Skate Journeys
• More in-school and after-school skating programs
• Expanded outreach to schools, communities, and organizations
• Growth of our Eastside and Issaquah programming
• Recruitment and support of additional instructors
• New mobile events and community skating opportunities
• Scholarships and pilot programs that increase access to skating
• A stronger, more sustainable future for Skate Journeys

Your company may match your gift, and we'll match donations up to our $8,000 matching fund. Imagine the ripple effect your generosity can create.

Together, we can launch this position, expand our reach, and bring skating to more people than ever before.

Last Year's Impact:

• More than $212,000 raised through programs and donors
• Thousands of students introduced to skating through schools and community programs
• New Skate PE initiatives developed and expanded
• More families gaining confidence, skills, fitness, and community through skating

This Year's Goal:

With a dedicated Programs and Outreach Coordinator, we aim to:

• Launch 4+ in-school programs reaching approximately 1,400 students
• Run 5+ after-school programs serving 100+ skaters
• Expand weekend classes and community events in new locations
• Build partnerships that create even more opportunities in the future

Help us move from maintaining programs to actively growing them. Together, we can build a sustainable future that brings skating to more communities for years to come.
