Outdoor Skills Class
Join us for an exciting class on navigating outdoor skating! This is the first class for exploring the outdoors, covering everything from trail etiquette to manhole covers, curbs, rocks, debris, and wheelchair ramps. We’ll teach you how to navigate slight inclines and declines and improve your skills by learning left and right turns – but make sure you’re comfortable with parallel turns first. Don’t worry if you want to take it slow; this course is all about getting comfortable outside. Students should be able to use their use heel brakes or toe stops. This class is required to learn and assess your skills for the Trails and Fitness on Skates classes. The instructor will let you know if you’re ready to progress.
For: Adults Level 3 and Children level 4 and up.
**IF NEW TO SKATE JOURNEYS PLEASE TAKE OUR WEEKEND CLASSES AND INSTRUCTORS WILL LET YOU KNOW IF YOU ARE AT THE SKILL LEVEL NEEDED FOR THIS CLASS. should you have the skills, please let you teacher know when you register. Teacher can choose to not include you in class if your skills are not a match to the level needed to hold the class safely.
